About Us

Stop a heart attack. Join the fight to end heart disease. Get Educated. Get Inspired. We are the Indian Heart Association. Help make heart disease history. Learn about us:

The Indian Heart Association (IHA) and Indian Stroke Association (ISA) is a cardiovascular health NGO founded by passionate individuals who were personally affected by cardiovascular disease and stroke. The IHA is officially registered in India. The major goal of our organization is to raise awareness about preventative cardiovascular health through a combination of online outreach and grassroots advocacy.

We were honored by an appointment by the Government of India to the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Instrumentation Subcommittee of the  Bureau of Indian Standards of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Our organization takes a place next to important entities such as the Apollo Hospitals, Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi), and the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons. The IHA has also been invited by The Economist to the September 2017 Heart Health Asia Summit in Seoul, South Korea,  where our founder Sevith Rao was an invited panel speaker on the topic of “Cardiovascular Disease in Emerging Markets” to collaborate with policy leaders on pan Asia strategies to combat cardiac disease.

We work with the local government, hospital groups, and private donors to expand the scope and influence of our efforts.

We have also joined hands and worked with physicians from institutions both in the United States and India, including the Baylor College of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. In addition, we have partnered with cardiologists and other physicians from major hospital groups including Apollo Hospitals, KIMS Hospitals, Narayana Hridayalaya, as well as local hospitals and clinics in India.

Join us in our quest to make heart disease, and the next heart attack, history.
