Sevith is a third year medical student at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA. He is a 2014 graduate of Rice University, where he double majored in Health Sciences and Health Care Policy Management, and was the recipient of Rice’s Hermance Award, the highest distinction among graduating seniors in the Health Sciences program, recognizing seniors who have exhibited exemplary qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service during their undergraduate experience. He was also nominated by Rice University for the Rhodes Scholarship in 2014.

This past year, Sevith worked full time in India with the IHA. During Sevith’s leading the Indian Heart Association, the IHA has conducted several free cardiac screening camps, was recognized by the Government of India via an appointment to the Bureau of Indians Standards, featured in prominent Indian newspapers, and partnered with notable non-profits, consulting firms, and hospitals. Sevith has several peer-reviewed medical publications to date through research work collaborating with NASA researchers/Henry Ford Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He is passionate about global and public health. Sishir Rao, MD

Sishir Massachusetts General Hospital


Dr. Rao is an Interventional Radiology Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and junior faculty at Harvard Medical School. He is a 2017 graduate of the Radiology Residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Sishir completed his undergraduate double major in Health Sciences and Health Care Policy Management with Honors at Rice University and his medical degree with Honors at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA as a Rice/Baylor Medical Scholar. Sishir has an interest in cardiovascular imaging and intervention, neurologic imaging and stroke, healthcare economics and outcomes, quality metrics, and health promotion. Sishir served as President this past year of the Massachusetts Radiological Society Resident Fellow Section (MRS-RFS). He is currently the Immediate Past President of the MRS-RFS and serves on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Radiological Society. Sishir also is also a Planning Board Member since 2016 for the City of Chelsea, MA.
